S.MARTI MANTLE CLOCK: Made by S.Marti Et Cie of Paris @ 1870-1890 (Samuel Marti). Housed in very nicely curved designed marble case with gilt fitted on the front. It has 8-days movement and strikes every hour on a bell. The Clock has enamel dial, a cast bezel and a central escapement that swings with the beat of pendulum. These clocks are also known as ‘shelf clock’ as they were traditionally placed on the shelf or mantel above the fireplace.
